Before departing for Bali, travelers are required to complete several travel formalities. Completing these requirements online in advance can reduce waiting time at the airport and allow you to enjoy your journey sooner.
Required preparations include:
- All Indonesia Declaration
- Visa application
- Tourist levy
Please note that if you are unable to complete these requirements online, they can still be processed upon arrival at the airport in Bali.
Entry and Travel Requirements
1. All Indonesia Declaration
The All Indonesia Declaration can be submitted up to 72 hours prior to your flight.
Once the form is completed, a QR code will be issued. Save it on your mobile device or print it out and present it upon arrival.
Through the same form (after submission), you may also:
- Apply for a Visa on Arrival (VOA), or
- Provide details of a visa you already hold
If you choose not to complete this step in advance, visa applications can still be made through the official e-Visa website or by obtaining a VOA upon arrival in Bali.
2. Visa Application
Most travelers visiting or transiting through Bali are required to hold a valid visa. The appropriate visa type depends on the purpose and duration of your stay.
For leisure travel, the commonly used visa options include:
- Visa on Arrival (VOA): Valid for 30 days and available online or upon arrival
- Single Entry Visa: Valid for 60 days and available online only
- Multiple Entry Visa: Valid for 1, 2, or 5 years and available online only
Additional visa categories may be available depending on your travel plans and will be displayed during the application process.
Visa applications can be submitted through the official Indonesian e-Visa website.
3. Visa Eligibility
Visa on Arrival (VOA) is available to passport holders from 97 eligible countries. Travelers who do not qualify for a VOA must apply for a visa online before departure.
It is strongly recommended to verify visa and entry requirements prior to traveling.
4. Tourist Levy
All visitors to Bali are required to pay a tourist levy of IDR 150,000.
This fee, introduced by the Balinese government, contributes to the protection and preservation of the island’s natural environment and cultural heritage. If the fee has not been paid in advance, it can be settled upon arrival in Bali.
Certain exemptions apply. Further details are available in the Love Bali FAQs.
